Suns ready to rain on Sydney's parade

GOLD Coast forward Charlie Dixon says the Suns want to spoil Sydney's premiership celebrations at the SCG tomorrow.

The Swans will unfurl their premiership flag at their first home game since capturing the 2012 crown.

Dixon says the Suns have not forgotten the two hidings Sydney have dished out at Metricon Stadium, and hope to return the favour in the club's first trip to the SCG.

Sydney beat the Gold Coast by 70 points in 2011 and followed it up with a 72-point hiding last year.

"We are pretty determined to crack in as hard as we can at their home ground," Dixon said.

"They'll obviously be very tough to beat, but we can take a lot of confidence out of the win over St Kilda.

"It was an awesome way to start the season, but it's important that we move on pretty quickly and not get too carried away because we are coming up against the premiers."

Dixon, 22, was one of the Gold Coast's best in the 13-point victory over the Saints at Metricon with 16 disposals, five marks, nine hitouts and two goals.

After a shaky start to his AFL career, the Cairns product has found his feet as a key forward-relieving ruckman.

"I'm getting touches in the middle early to bring me into the game which is good for my confidence," he said.

"We are also getting better forward entries now which gives us a chance to take a mark.

Dixon said Gary Ablett Jr's heroics against St Kilda had inspired the Suns.

"You can't ask for more from your captain. It's important that we all lift and don't just leave it up to him," he said.

The Suns made one change to the side that beat St Kilda, with former Docker Greg Broughton (calf) replaced by Jack Hutchins.
