Advice

Hey there, zerr0max! Sato here again. It's not a stupid question. Don't ever be afraid that you're gonna ask a stupid question; there's no such thing!

So from what I can understand, you have a group of dedicated IRL role-players ready to go, and you want to create a roleplay to gather information or discussion topics for your players to talk about when you're obviously not roleplaying. On the other hand, you also have people interested in the roleplay who will not be able to participate in the offline, IRL content. You want to include them both.

You can have two stories going on in the same role-play, of course - you can add PLACES to an RP, and then direct users to post in different areas. So, then, for instance you could have your IRL friends posting in one area, and then the players who can only interact when online can post in another place. That will separate the posting from each other.

When you say "on the website", that's curious to me, though. Of course you can have multiple roleplays running on the website at once! Many GMs have more than one story. I wonder if that was a mistype and not what y9ou meant.

However you play it, you are are going to have a bit of an organizational nightmare. If I were in your shoes, I'd just suggest keeping the two parties separate and trying to keep things straight and not combine the two. With people splitting up here, there, yet only knowing sparse bits, you may end up confusing your potential players rather than enriching their creative experience.

Ultimately, it may suit you better to let your potential players know that this roleplay is closed off and meant for your IRl friends - but then inform them that you will be creating another roleplay that they will be invited to participate in. There's nothing wrong with saying that something is meant to be private, and if you explain the offline/online situation, the potential players may be understanding.

Hope that helps!
