George Nash and William Satch add to Team ... - BBC World News

George Nash and William Satch claimed bronze for Great Britain in the men?s pairs at Eton Dorney, behind France in second and the formidable New Zealand duo of Hamish Bond and Eric Murray. Speaking after race, an ecstatic Satch said: ?Six months ago I didn?t even think I would be coming here as a spare. We tried to keep it simple, raw and basic.? New Zealand pair Hamish Bond and Eric Murray ? who haven?t been beaten in the last three years ? took an early lead and never looked like relinquishing it, finishing over four seconds ahead of nearest rivals France, having already smashed their own world record in the heats. Team GB?s men?s quadruple sculls missed out on a medal earlier in the morning, finishing fifth in the final at Eton Dorney behind Germany, Croatia, Australia and Estonia.
