Would this gadget bring negative effects for iPhone?

Yeah, LTE isn't true 4G but it still sucks up more power to run an LTE antennae, which was my point when it comes to power consumption.

And since when was the 4S ever marketed as being 4G? I've yet to see this from either Apple or any of the three US carriers, so I'd like to know where people are getting this notion. The only carrier that calls the HSPA+ 4G (anymore) in the US is TMob, and they don't even have the iPhone 4S (officially).
